I thought I’d share a few photos from this past weekend. I’m going to try really hard to keep up with what’s happening in our lives on this blog…my friend Katrin created an amazing book from her blog posts as a keepsake for her daughter. I think that’s an awesome idea and I plan to document all of the fun (and not so fun) times we experience this year here.
To start, the boys finally got another haircut last week! It was long overdue and the very talented Shannon at Bloomhill Studios did a great job making the boys look presentable again. Poor things hadn’t had a haircut in 9 months since their first haircut was so traumatizing and I just couldn’t stand to go through that again. Luckily, I decided to ignore The Builder’s* idea that they should always get haircuts at a barber shop (because that seems more manly than a salon) and I decided to take them to Shannon. She did an awesome job and they were surprisingly very good during the cut. They just sat still and watched Shannon quietly.
It was one of those rare occasions when they were so well behaved that I started to foolishly believe it has something to do with my parenting skills.
It was obviously just a fluke! 🙂
I held them during the actual cut so I don’t have any action shots to prove how good they were – you just have to trust me. Especially when you see us out in public and they are fighting or throwing a fit. 🙂
The other not so fun way we spent our weekend was holed up in the house trying to help poor Nathan feel better. He was sick all weekend with a respiratory virus and stomach bug that just kept getting worse. We went to our pediatrician last Thursday and were advised to treat him with the motrin/tylenol combination, saline drops, etc because antibiotics wouldn’t treat this nasty bug. By Saturday night, his fever still hadn’t subsided and we ended up in the ER in the wee hours Sunday morning.
I can’t think of a more helpless feeling as a momma than not being able to comfort your hurting baby…
