This is it. Our very last week of summer break.
The days were often looonnngggg but we have relished this short season of no schedules and late nights and slow mornings. However, it’s safe to say we are all ready for routine again. So, we’re soaking up this one last week of lazy days by the pool before we get back into the early morning and long school day grind again.
School supplies are purchased, new clothes are hung and backpacks are packed. The boys meet their teachers on Thursday and Sylvie will meet her PreK teacher next Tuesday (she has the same teacher the boys had in PreK – I’m so relieved! We loved her)!
The boys got haircuts yesterday – you can see how thrilled Nathan was about this. 😉
And, Charlotte had her very first trim! She was so still – I think she was afraid to move. It was hilarious! She did so great staying calm and the trim was super quick and she has shown it off to everyone we see. We went to Nana and Papa’s last night for dinner and the first thing she said when she saw them was, “I got a haircut!”
In other Charlotte news, Dave cut her crib down to create a pseudo toddler bed with the hope of this helping her to actually SLEEP in her own bed. Y’all. She refuses. If we put her in her bed once she is asleep, she’ll wake up and scream to come into our bed. We’re all exhausted around here.
This cutie pie crib has made the rounds in this family! Dave built it originally for the boys as a twin crib, then he changed it up and made it into a single crib for Charlotte and now it’s a little toddler bed for our girlie girl.
Have a great week, friends! Go, soak up the last bits of summer!!!
**Oh, I forgot to share this post the other day. Arkansas Women Bloggers featured our farmhouse in their home tour series. Check it out HERE. Hope you enjoy the tour!
