I have had a few questions about our Lent tree…specifically how it can be done when you don’t have time to run around town hunting down all of the ornaments!
Carol gave a great idea in her book about making your own Lent tree with one Biblical story and corresponding ornament per week instead of a daily story and ornament.
Or, you could create a Holy Week tree and choose to participate during that week only.
Make this your own and make it fit into your family’s schedule. There are no rules on the ornaments either. These are just suggestions. Use your creativity to create any ornament that reflects the message of the story. And, feel free to choose your own verses/stories. This is meant to be a guide to help your family experience the Lent season in a deeper, more focused way. It is a chance to learn more about God’s fulfilled promises and His love for us.
Here are some suggestions for a modified weekly version:
I’ve also had questions about ornaments. Here are a couple of images of some of the ornaments we have chosen to use on our own tree. I hope these help spark ideas for you, as well. You can see that these are simple and inexpensive. I had a lot of luck at Hobby Lobby and other craft stores finding these.

I hope this helps. Have a wonderful and blessed day!
