This past Sunday was a perfect day. We soaked up the gorgeous spring-like weather with family and friends. We filled the day with rest, relaxation and fellowship with loved ones. I don’t want to forget the details…
The day began with Grandma Marrs, Uncle Bob, Aunt Katie and Dave planting our family garden. I was busy watching Ben & Nathan playing in the rocks in Aunt Katie’s yard. As bad as I am in the kitchen, I’m even worse when it comes to keeping plants alive. So, I gladly turned this particular project over to the experts.
I really can’t believe we are planting a garden this early in March but I am loving the thought of home-grown fresh vegetables! The weather has just been too nice to not start planting and we are all so excited for our upcoming bounty!!
Laying in the rocks…it is obviously much easier to throw them if you are laying flat in them.
Uncle Bob watering the newly planted seeds!
|Ben and his bear wanted to get in on the rock action.
And, that plant they are kicking was not killed by me.
That is Katie’s.
She killed it on her own, thank you very much.
They are so serious about this rock mission.
Next up, we headed down the street to the park with friends.,,
Can’t leave home without your phone or your water. He’s always prepared.
Nathan attacking Hannah. They were cracking each other up!
Look at that hair!
Mr. Scott let the boys wear his hat. Nate helped Ben put it on.
How GROWN-UP does he look? Strutting his stuff.
Check out Ben’s “crazy” hair! Oh my. Love it.
Lastly, we spent our evening celebrating Dave and my birthdays at Dave’s parents’ house with family. A little late but absolutely worth the wait.
Nathan is our “bruiser”… he added another knot to his forehead right off the bat.
The fall did not slow him down!
Fun with cousins…
Giving Uncle Dave a birthday massage 🙂
Aunt Jill and her entourage playing the piano 🙂
I love days like this. I want to press the pause button. I am so grateful for the sweet memories.
We have already jumped quickly into our busy week and the serenity of our Sabbath seems so long ago (just TWO days, really?!). Ben and I head to Orlando in the morning. I am praying for a safe trip and for the boys to be okay apart for a few days!
I would love to not have a funny travel story to share tomorrow. You know, the kind of story that is not at all funny while it’s happening? I would like a boring travel day with followed by a good night’s sleep. Aww, that sounds nice, doesn’t it?
