The thing about having one for-sure, for-sure last baby is that you’ve done this all before and you know how quickly the itty-bitty-baby days and months fly by. You know that your sleeping newborn will soon give way to a busy six-month old and then in a flurry of sleepless nights and long days and snuggles and nursing sessions and milestones and “firsts”, you suddenly find yourself celebrating a full year with this little person who has positively rocked your world in the best possible way and stolen every fiber of your heart forever and ever. You incredulously watch as this little blob of baby squishiness transforms before your eyes into a running, climbing, laughing, talking, house-destroying, highly entertaining toddler with a personality all his own.
You desperately reach for the pause button because it all happens way too fast.
Alas, you know it’s as impossible to freeze time as it is to bottle up that fresh baby scent radiating off your newborn’s perfect little head. The stages blur together and the only way to try to capture every little adorable thing is to take a zillion photos and videos and simply hold on tightly for the ride.
Today, was one of the milestone days that required a zillion photos and videos.
Luke’s first haircut. (Covid-style: Daddy played the role of barber).
Be still my heart.
His baby curls are gone and while I haven’t yet become the mom who saves his little locks in a ziplock bag, I seriously considered it. Sheesh I love this little man and I still can’t quite believe he’s mine. For God to give me the chance to do this whole my-baby-is-growing-up-way-too-fast-dance once again is just so ridiculously gracious of Him.
Look at that big boy hair! Gah. I can hardly handle it. If you need me for the rest of the day, I’ll be trying to wrangle this busy little guy for a few extra snuggles. ❤️
Happy Sunday, friends!

Great Pictures! Those first haircuts are something to be remembered for sure! My babies are 29 and 30 and I saved their little patch of hair clippings tied up in a pink and a blue ribbon.
